How glucose test strips work
The principle of glucose analyzers is based on the electrochemical reaction between glucose in the blood sample and glucose oxidase, which impregnates the membrane of the strip’s test zone.
When a drop of blood is applied to the reaction zone, glucose reacts with glucose oxidase, releasing a certain amount of energy that is detected by the device. Based on the measured signal strength, the concentration of glucose molecules in the blood is determined, enabling conclusions about therapy effectiveness and allowing adjustments to improve the patient’s well‑being.
Testing procedure

Before testing, remove the chip from the vial and bring it close to the device to improve result accuracy. Then take a strip from the vial and insert it into the slot on the glucose meter.
Wash your hands with soap, massage the finger from which blood will be drawn, and make a puncture with a sterile lancet, which is then disposed of. Bring your finger to the test zone and wait for the device’s signal that the required amount of blood has been collected. The test result will appear on the screen within 1–3 minutes.
